GarryBurnside the YOUNGEST son of internationally celebrated Hill Country Blues legend R. L. Burnside., Garry began playing at five, at 15 he started recording with Junior Kimbrough, and at 21 he had toured the world with Junior and R.L. Garry shares tunings, guitar chords, and “the thumb’, a signature technique to North Mississippi trance music.

Ms SlideGuitar, Wendy Jean Garrison Oxford Ms. guitarist will show students and RL BOYCE a thing or two about North Mississippi slide guitar techniques. Highly versatile guitarist Ms. Wendy’s can play many different styles of regional Mississippi Blues.

Roderick “Keshaun” Wooten, kin to the Turner’s is a drummer who must be witnessed. Testify! Roderick demonstrates with ease a variety of drum patterns unique to North Mississippi fife and drum music.

Hill Country Blues Guided Tour w/ RL BOYCE
RL BOYCE leads guests to a variety of locations pertinent to RL’s musical legacy, and incredible life. Also learn about RL family’s Fife n Drum connections to so many from the North Mississippi Blues community. Each guest is provided with a printed map. Questions and discussion are encouraged. Stop by spots like where Fred McDowell’s trailer stood, LPs Ball Field, Hunter Chapel Church, Compress Rd. And the grave sites of Fred McDowell, Otha and Bernice Turner, Jessie Mae Hemphill, Napoleon Strickland, Rev. John Wilkins, Calvin Jackson, and R.L. Burnside.
Guests are requested to caravan in their own vehicles.
