In my lifetime I was the most undervalued American Blues musician. I am the BIG BLUES MANE, Rl Boyce. I lived my whole life in Como Ms. I began playing music as a drummer in 1970 at age 15 in my Uncle Otha Turner's Traditional Fife n Drum, Rising Stars. I was nominated for a GRAMMY for my sophmore release Roll & Tumble 2018, where I lost to the Rolling Stones. I am a N.E.A. National Heritage Fellow for Excellence in Traditional Arts, 2023.
